Sound Healing
Sound Meditation Journey

Why I practice Meditation:

For a long time, my life felt chaotic and overwhelming. By practicing meditation I have found a whole new perspective and am able to approach life in a joyful way that I didn't know was even possible. Meditation has allowed me to live a full yet balanced life. I can choose to respond rather than react. I feel calm, connected to my truth, peaceful, and free.

Why I teach Meditation:

I teach in order to offer a warm, welcoming, and safe space for others to relax and just be. My goal is to help others find calm amidst chaos. I believe that meditation gives us the tools to help us end the "busy-ness" and heal our anxiety and addiction plagued society.

Background:

For the last three decades I have been meditating under the guidance of my own teacher. I spent many years in the beauty and TV industry working long hours but always made it a priority to have a disciplined daily practice.

Why I practice meditation:

Meditation has been the vehicle to answer my childhood question, Who am I? I continue to practice to deepen that experience.

Why I teach meditation:

My intent is to help others answer that question because when you solve the problem, Who am I, you solve all problems. This is my way to serve humanity.

Raegan Loston

Background:

Raegan Loston stumbled upon Breathwork at a time in her life when she was just going through the motions. Life was good. Work was good. Family was good. Friends were good. Despite the feeling of gratitude surrounding this perpetual state of “goodness” there was a nagging feeling in the pit of her soul that said, “life was meant to be GREAT.” She found her way to her first Breathing Meditation class and left convinced that she had found a practice where she could shift the trajectory of her “good” life into one that was “great". After years of practicing Breathwork as a student, she began training with author, teacher, healer, and Breathwork practitioner, David Elliott. Having completed David’s Healer Training Program, Raegan is ready to hold space for you so you may heal old wounds, move stuck energy, and connect with your most authentic self using the power of your breath.

- Breathwork

Why I practice meditation:

I practice meditation because it allows me time and space where I may shift through the incessant noise of the outside world, tap into my intuition, and listen to my personal guidance system.

Why I teach meditation:

I believe we all have an innate ability to tap into our most authentic selves, generate healing in our lives, and carry that energy forward into the world. I offer Breathwork as a means of holding space for others as they navigate their personal journey towards their most happy, healthy, and fulfilling lives.

Why I practice meditation:

Aside from all the incredible health benefits, I find it one of the best (and cheapest!) ways to get back to what really matters, fast.

Why I teach meditation:

Learning how to quieten and focus my mind is without a doubt the best skill I have ever learnt. Helping others learn how to cultivate this skill is hugely rewarding and also helps deepens my own practice.

Shannon is a co-founder of Awaken.Yoga, a online sacred space for you to practice yoga + meditation so that you can tune into yourself and practice whenever you want.

Why I practice meditation:

In our culture of over-achieving, external validation, and incessant doing, mediation allows me to radically defy the pressure to keep going, press the pause button, and experience my own being. Every time I sit, I am gifted the opportunity to be still, listen, receive, and begin again. I love experiencing glimpses of deep peace. Meditation reminds me that I can consciously choose respond to life with love instead of unconsciously react to life from fear.

Why I teach meditation:

Our inner environment informs the way we see and show up in the world. I believe that in order to create a rippling vibration of peace on the planet, we must know and embody the experience of peace within ourselves. It is a great honor and privilege to facilitate and guide people into a deeply relaxed state of rest and peace.

Why I practice meditation:

I practice meditation to center myself from the constant stream of doing. I find it important to pause, breath and just be. This creates and opens space in my body and mind, and allows me to relax in order to take action from a centered place.

Why I teach meditation:

I teach meditation with sound to invite people into this practice. Sound gives us something to focus on, besides our thoughts, and allows us to become an observer of our self. You can find comfort in the sounds while getting used to the practice of tuning inwards for longer periods of time.
