Lauren Brim

Background:

Lauren began practicing mind-body medicine in 2004 after it helped her heal miraculously from a fractured spine while dancing with the Radio City Rockettes. She later developed a speciality with sexual wellness and female empowerment after training to be a doula, studying midwifery and seeing the lack of effective tools for women to address their sexual and reproductive health in both mainstream and alternative medicine. She is the author of "The New Rules of Sex" and "The New American Family" available on Amazon, along with numerous blogs and articles designed to educate, empower and shift the current sexual, relationship and family paradigm. She began leading meditations for her clients after studying the Silva Method in 2006 and uses meditation to help heal the body, increase creativity, improve relationships, and shift the belief systems that keep her clients from achieving the life they desire.

Classes/privates taught at Unplug:

  • Let's Get Intimate
  • Body Talk and Meditation

Why I practice meditation:

I practice meditation because it helps me access the stillness and power that is always available to me but that I so easily lose touch with. In that place I recharge, solve problems, tap into my creativity, shed emotional stories and baggage, and remember who I am. I wouldn't have the life I have now if I had not developed the ability to meditate, breathe, and allow the stillness into my life that is the birthplace for change and personal evolution.

Why I teach meditation:

I teach because I have the toolset to help others heal their bodies and hearts, digest their often turbulent lives, and find peace to bring into their professional and personal relationships. I am particularly passionate about teaching an empowering and truthful message about human sexuality and relationships that can help society shed the suppressive his-story of sexuality that has dominated the planet for far too long!
