Unplug App to Revolutionize Group Meditation Through Support for SharePlay

LOS ANGELES, California — December 15, 2021 — Unplug Meditation today announced it has added support for SharePlay in the Unplug app, giving users with an iPhone a new way to stay connected and share meditation experiences while on a FaceTime call.

“People used to have to commute or go on lengthy retreats to experience group meditation - now they just have to hop on a FaceTime call and tap SharePlay in the Unplug app,” says Suze Yalof Schwartz, CEO and Founder of the Unplug app. “The majority of people fail at a consistent meditation practice because there is zero accountability and a lack of community. By adding support for SharePlay, we are bringing the live experience provided inside our Los Angeles studio into the palms of our global community.”

Currently, most content on popular meditation apps is audio-only, but Unplug’s 950+ classes from 95+ world renowned experts are available on video, which makes it a perfect experience to share with friends and family while on a FaceTime call. Unplug’s content is filmed and produced live inside the Unplug studio in Los Angeles so that subscribers experience high quality classes with powerful results. Meditations vary from one minute to one hour, and are designed to be inclusive with a large roster of diverse teachers, and a wide selection of classes that go beyond traditional meditation.

“Meditation has a reputation of being boring and impossible to do. The Unplug app makes it inspirational and easy, and when you bring your friends into the mix via SharePlay, it makes the experience a lot more fun,” says Schwartz.

Taking care of one’s mental health should not just be allocated to one day - it should happen every day. When people meditate together they not only improve their own mental health, but they also enhance the mental health of others. With SharePlay support in the Unplug app, you can create a meditation club with up to 32 of your friends, family members or co-workers and meditate completely in sync while on a FaceTime call. “We know book clubs help people read more, and we believe SharePlay support in the Unplug app will do the same for meditation. Meditation clubs are the new book clubs for 2022,” says Schwartz.

More than one million people have experienced the power of the Unplug app, which exists to make meditation easy, inspirational and effective. Unplug’s mission is to help people experience the scientific benefits that come with a consistent meditation practice.

The updated Unplug app can be found on the iOS App Store and works with devices running iOS 15.1 or later. For more detailed information on how to use SharePlay in the Unplug app, see Unplug’s support article here.
