Unplug Meditation California Privacy Notice

This California Privacy Notice supplements the Unplug Privacy Policy and applies only to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA).

It explains the categories of personal information we collect, how we use and share it, and the privacy rights available to California residents.

2. Sources of Information

We collect personal information from:

  • You — when you create an account, make a purchase, or use our app or site.

  • Your devices — through cookies and analytics tools.

  • Service providers (e.g., Stripe, Apple, Google for payments and hosting).

  • Social media integrations (if you choose to connect them).

3. Use of Personal Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and improve our Services;

  • Manage subscriptions and accounts;

  • Communicate updates, offers, and support;

  • Prevent fraud and ensure security;

  • Personalize content and recommendations; and

  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information for purposes beyond those necessary to deliver our Services.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information

We may share your information only with:

  • Service Providers (analytics, hosting, payment, and support);

  • Legal Authorities if required by law;

  • Business Transfers (merger or acquisition events); and

  • Advertising and Analytics Partners, limited to cookie-based tracking with consent.

All third parties must protect your information and use it only as instructed by us.

We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described above or as legally required.
Data is securely deleted or anonymized once no longer needed.

6. Your Privacy Rights (California Residents)

Under the CPRA, you have the right to:

  • Delete your personal information (subject to legal exceptions);

  • Correct inaccurate information;

  • Opt Out of Sale or Sharing of personal information;

  • Limit Use of Sensitive Information; and

  • Non-Discrimination for exercising your rights.

To submit a verified request, email support@unplug.com with “California Privacy Request” in the subject line or use the “Your Privacy Choices” link on our website.

We will confirm receipt within 10 days and respond within 45 days (90 if an extension is needed).

7. Opt Out of Sale or Sharing

Unplug does not sell personal data for payment.
However, certain analytics or advertising cookies may qualify as “sharing.”

To opt out:

  • Click “Your Privacy Choices” in the footer of our website; or

  • Adjust preferences in CookieYes or enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, which we honor.

8. Authorized Agents

You may authorize someone to exercise your rights on your behalf. We may require verification of both your identity and your agent’s authorization before processing such requests.

9. Minors

Unplug does not knowingly sell or share personal information of users under 16.
If we discover that we have collected data from a minor without consent, we will delete it immediately.

10. Changes to This Notice

We may update this Notice periodically. The “Last Updated” date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be posted on our site and communicated as required by law.
